Big Bang Theory comes to life at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Burbank

“Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries that all started with the Big Bang [Theory!]”

The Big Bang Theory recently wrapped up a twelve-season reign as one of the most popular sitcoms on TV. But just because Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Amy, Wolowitz and Koothrappali aren’t visiting our homes every week anymore – well they will be in syndication and streaming for a long time still – that doesn’t mean we can’t visit their world.

Warner Brothers Studio Tour now features a brand-new exhibit in the interactive Studio 48: From Script to Screen stage, with whole sets from Big Bang Theory. These sets include the infamous lobby with the broken elevator, apartment 4A, and the cafeteria at CalTech.

Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment 4A and the hallway connecting their home to Penny’s apartment are open to photo ops. You can sit on the couch – even in Sheldon’s spot. You can stand next to 4B’s door to knock a few times for Penny. You can wait for the broken elevator. Or you can go anywhere you feel comfortable in their world.

At a press conference with cast and execs, it was stated that a specific building in front of the tour at Warner Brothers was used as Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena to showcase the outside of the gang’s apartment building.

During the interview, Wil Wheaton and Brian Thomas Smith, actors on the show, were joined by Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland, and Steve Molaro, who all contributed to the creation of Big Bang Theory. Ultimately, they said the finale of the show was “emotional” and really proved how special it was to be a part of such a notable show.

Throughout all the sets, there are unmistakable costumes worn by the cast. These include Amy’s classic sweater vest ensemble in the cafeteria and Penny’s outfit featuring a reusable bag with wine bottles in the lobby. Stepping into 4A, you’ll be greeted with intricate and detailed props, like the action figures spotted in many episodes, multiple Siam Palace take-out containers on the coffee table, and tons of books about science, math, or history plus comics, of course.

Although the show is over after a long run of twelve comedic seasons, it has ended in a celebratory fashion. The original filming place on the lot, Stage 25, was renamed “The Big Bang Theory Stage” with a shiny plaque and this permanent new feature to the tour in Burbank.
