Giveon – Theatre of the Living Arts – Philadelphia, PA – December 4, 2021
It was a packed house for Giveon's show in Philadelphia at Theatre of the Living Arts on Saturday. In preparation for his performance, the audience lined up outside early and patiently waited for him to take the stage. Opening the show was his brother DJ Briggs, who got the crowd going for 45 minutes prior to Giveon's set. He played the likes of Drake, the Weeknd, Summer Walker, and Sza – to name a few. The audience was dancing and singing along, as Briggs took photos and interacted with the crowd.
As his set winded down, the stage went black, and it was time for Giveon. He walked onto the stage and a bright spotlight showcased his big smile as Giveon stared into the large crowd and began his ballad "The Beach." After a few set songs, Giveon introduced his band – which included some Philadelphia natives – to the crowd. He explained how it was his first time in Philadelphia and he was told to get a cheesesteak at Max's, so he did.
He continued with some of his most well-known songs like "Still Your Best" and Justin Bieber's "Peaches" – on which he is featured. He explained that it was his first tour. Many fans knew this was the case, but to an outsider it wouldn't be obvious, due to the flawless delivery. The audience continued being captivated as he engaged them and mentioned that as soon as the tour wraps, he will be in the studio finishing his next album.
As he prepared to close out the show, Giveon sang his most recent release "For Tonight" with vocal runs as smooth as butter. He then thanked the crowd for coming and left the stage. As the audience screamed for an encore, he came back on stage to sing the fan favorite "Heartbreak Anniversary." Afterwards he took pictures with fans, while also signing merch. All in all, Giveon is on his way to stardom and this tour proved that.
