Happy 30th Anniversary to the XPoNential Festival!

Happy 30th Anniversary to the XPoNential Festival!

Thirty years is a long time, and it has been that long that some of the biggest names in alternative music have been visiting the Camden Waterfront to play for beloved public radio station WXPN. The 30th annual festival is coming this weekend and it is the place to be for a wonderfully diverse musical experience.

The first show actually took place in 1994, then called Singer Songwriter Weekend, and featured such artists as Sarah McLachlan, Shawn Colvin, T-Bone Burnett and Iris DeMent. Over the years the name has changed – it was called Singer Songwriter Weekend for about a decade, became the All About the Music Festival for a couple of years in the mid-aughts, before settling into the current appellation in 2007 – but the dedication to sharing great music has never waned. They have had shows every year at Wiggins Park and the Pavilion in Camden (except for 2020, when the festival was virtual due to COVID).

Over the years, a dizzying group of artists have graced the XPoNential Festival stages, including Bob Dylan, David Byrne, Elvis Costello, Norah Jones, Ani DiFranco, John Legend, Suzanne Vega, My Morning Jacket, Patti Smith, Los Lobos, The Indigo Girls, Ingrid Michaelson, Dawes, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and many, many more.

This year’s fest is coming this weekend, with a packed lineup which will feature such acclaimed artists as Old Crow Medicine Show, Margo Price, Say She She, Tegan and Sarah, The Hold Steady, Sammy Rae, Bobby Rush, Low Cut Connie, Josh Ritter and Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers.

It’s where to be this weekend!
