Ayumu Imazu – The Troubadour – Hollywood, CA – March 10, 2025
The crowd erupted as Japanese singer-songwriter, Ayumu Imazu, took to the stage at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.
It was evident from the start of his set that Imazu is a strong multi-hyphenate artist, as he showed off not only his vocals but also his smooth dance moves. Performing hit songs like, “Tangerine” and “Obsessed,” Imazu provided the perfect amount of energy to hype up the crowd while getting them engaged and singing the lyrics out loud.
This show proved to be particularly meaningful for Imazu, as he spoke to the audience about his journey as a supporting act for singer-songwriter MAX’s U.S. tour, titled “THE LOUNGE・THE PARTY・THE AFTER PARTY. A Three Night Experience.,” and how grateful he was to the audience for joining him on the last night of the tour – his debut U.S. tour, at that.
He discussed how social media was responsible for connecting him with MAX, after his TikTok dance to the demo of “Obsessed” gained traction. Their burgeoning friendship led to MAX featuring on the song in April 2024.
Therefore, there was no better way to conclude Imazu’s set and his portion of the tour than with MAX joining him on stage to sing “Obsessed” together. Their mutual respect and excitement for each other to shine as artists were palpable.
