Despite a rain delay and eventual further rain during their main set, Jane’s Addiction put on a fine show for a sold out crowd at The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. Band leaders Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro electrified the wet crowd with their rock theatrics.

The main set was Jane’s Addiction’s second album in its entirety – Ritual de lo Habitual. The nine songs stirred up ‘90s nostalgia from set opener “Stop!” to the finale of “Classic Girl.” And a tight encore including David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel” and “Jane Says” to close out the show was brilliant. Farrell was ever the showman and Navarro stunned as much with his guitar work as with his library of tattoos.

Dinosaur Jr. opened with a swift set. J. Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph traversed their rock terrain with the desired detachment. Nine songs came to life including set closer cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven.”
