Ken Carson & 2hollis – The Fillmore – Philadelphia, PA – August 24, 2024
Ken Carson's sold-out concert in Philadelphia, part of his A Great Chaos tour, was a night filled with energy and chaos, perfectly matching the rapper's signature style.
Opener 2hollis set the stage with a captivating performance, blending his signature EDM and trap sounds, getting the crowd hyped for the Ken later in the night.
The venue was filled with smoke as the opening notes to "Hardcore" started playing and fans started chanting "We want Ken." All the audience could see was a faint outline of Ken on the stage up on the rafters and a unique stage set. As soon as the beat dropped for “Hardcore,” the stage lit up with flashing lights and the energy inside the venue was electric.
The setlist was packed with fan favorites like "Lose It," "Freestyle 3," and "Succubus," each track blended heavy beats with Ken's high energy delivery. One of the standout moments was "Jennifer's Body," which had the entire crowd jumping and shouting the lyrics back at him.
Carson's ability to control the crowd was on full display, as he seamlessly transitioned between the high-energy tracks and more introspective cuts like "Overseas” and "I Need U." Songs like "Nightcore" and "Toxic" highlighted his knack for blending hyper rap with a futuristic, almost chaotic soundscape, drawing his fans deeper into his world. Ken ended the night with undeniably the most popular song off of A Great Chaos called "Fighting my Demons."
The atmosphere inside The Fillmore was electric, with a mosh-pit energy that didn't let up. Carson's performance of "Yale" and "Jennifer's Body" towards the end of the night kept the intensity high, solidifying his status as a leading force in the hyper-rap scene. The chaotic visuals and heavy bass further emphasized the raw, unapologetic energy Ken is known for.
