Lisa Hannigan & Heather Woods Broderick – Underground Arts – Philadelphia, PA – February 25, 2017
One of the best voices around haunted the glorious Underground Arts recently — Lisa Hannigan. The Irish songstress whose vast lyrical palette allows for her vocal brushstrokes to go far and wide through the soul ended her U.S. tour with a triumphant set.
Touring in support of her latest EP “At Swim,” Hannigan and her crack band stunned a reverent Philadelphia crowd. With such stunners as “Funeral Suit” and the show opener “Ora” she showed her newest work fits in perfectly with sublime works like “Passenger.” Heavy with the literary history of her homeland and rich with brilliant lyrical turns and guitar and associated string flourishes, she is one-of-a-kind and never to be missed.
Heather Woods Broderick opened with a tight set of solo material. Her vocals also fit well in with harmonizing with Hannigan during the main set.
