Noah Cyrus – House of Blues – Chicago, IL – October 27, 2022
Popstar and singer-songwriter Noah Cyrus gave The House of Blues Chicago a sold-out show to celebrate the release of her first full-length highly appraised album, The Hardest Part. The album dropped on September 16th, debuting ten emotionally packed songs. The album discusses familial and romantic love and loss, addiction, what it is like the be in the spotlight in this day and age.
"The Hardest Part Tour" is her second headlining tour following "The Good Cry Tour" in 2018. Noah started her music career in 2016, as the youngest of six Cyrus children.
Noah amazed the crowd with her high energy performance, dance moves, and stunning outfits. She wore a gothic black lace dress with purple pointy nails. The lighting and the ambiance of the House of Blues made the show even more surreal and special. Noah appeared out of the darkness of stage right starting with "Noah (Stand Still)," where Noah was recalling advice that her father Billy Ray Cyrus gave to her about finding peace in the chaos of her mind and this world. Some of the listeners were in tears as she poured her heart out about finding stillness in this crazy world. She moved onto other hit titles like "Mr. Percocet" and " Tracklist" with breathtaking performances.
One of the highlights of the first half of the set was a haunting duet written with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie called "Every Beginning Ends." The duet focuses on a love that has lost its flame with the hardships that follow. Noah incorporated music from her previous bodies of work as well as a cover of the Chicks’ "Cowboy Take Me Away". The cover was added to the set list after Noah saw the Chicks perform at the Austin City Limits Fest this year.
By the end of the concert, people's feet started to hurt as they had been dancing for an hour and a half. The night was concluded with a three-song encore including "Lonely," " Make Me (Cry)" and ended with " The End of Everything." Noah has made a name for herself as the youngest Cyrus sibling. The Chicago stop of the "Hardest Part Tour" showed that she has a lasting impact on the crowd.
