Still Woozy & Michelle – The Mann Center – Philadelphia (A PopEntertainment.com Concert Review)

Still Woozy & Michelle – The Mann Center – Philadelphia, PA – August 11, 2024

Alternative/indie solo artist Sven Gamsky – you may know him by his stage name, Still Woozy – put on an amazing show for Philadelphia. He brought his Loveseat tour to the Skyline Stage at the Mann. The tour is named after his newest album Loveseat that was released early this summer. It features hits like “Lemon” and “Shotput.” The album continues to have his unique sound: a funky, chill, lo-fi, vibey sound with his insane vocals on top of it. It was a beautiful night for an outdoor summer concert and the sun was still up as the opener took stage.

Michelle is a pop group consisting of six members, four front girls and two guys on the bass and drums. The four girls, while performing their songs, also choreographed their own dances to go with each song on their set list. The crowd jumped along as they performed some songs that will be featured on their upcoming album Songs About You Specifically which comes out September 27th. New releases like “Mentos and Coke” and “Oontz” had the audience captivated. The band’s new songs have a Spice Girls feel to them, something that sounds familiar but also something you’ve never heard before.

Still Woozy took the stage performing “Again,” the first track on his new album. Next, he played “Window,” which continued the high-energy performance that the audience was loving. Whilst playing guitar and singing, Woozy still finds the energy to jump up and down, running back and forth on the stage, matching the energy of the crowd in front of him.

Following the upbeat songs, he continues the show with a slower song from the new album, “Baby,” sitting at the piano as the sunsets. The funky synth heavy song, “Rocky” off of his debut album, If This Isn’t Nice, I Don’t Know What Is, was the perfect song to transition from a softer sound back to his classic groovy sound with harmonies in “Lemon.”

While most of the setlist was from his latest album, he mixed in some of his most popular singles like “Cooks” and some off of “Lately,” his first EP, like “Habit” and “Lava.” Ending the night with his biggest hit, “Goodie Bag,” a single he released back in 2017, the crowd was louder than ever, and the gorgeous night was ending. The concertgoers were singing word for word along with Woozy and the energy was still as high as it was at the beginning of the show. He thanked everyone for coming to the show as he exited the stage, it was a perfect summer evening at The Skyline Stage at The Mann.

Listen to Still Woozy’s new album Loveseat and catch him on the remainder of the Loveseat tour, ending in London in November.
